Rooted in Community, Inspired by Wellbeing
Bringing people together to explore different paths to wellbeing
Our Story
We are a registered non-profit community interest company supporting health and wellbeing across Scarborough and the surrounding area.
In 2025 we were deeply grateful to be awarded funding from the National Lottery Community Grant and North Yorkshire Council Inspire Grant, allowing us to expand our Wellness Mornings across Scarborough.
Founded by experienced practitioners Kate Stancombe, Sound Therapist, and Daniel Le Fey, Holistic & Ecotherapist, we work together to offer accessible, community-focused wellness experiences that help people feel more connected, supported, and well.
Our Aims

Our Aim is to make wellness accessible for all. Through monthly wellness mornings, workshops, holistic practices, and community events, we aim to reduce isolation, promote mental and physical health, and build meaningful connections.
Our Values
We value inclusivity, kindness, and community spirit. Our work is rooted in accessibility and sustainability, offering safe, welcoming spaces where people can explore ways to nurture body, mind, and spirit.
But who are we?
Hey, I’m Daniel Le Fey, a VTCT-qualified holistic therapist with over 15 years of experience. My work is person-centred and trauma-informed, creating a relaxed and supportive space where people can reconnect with their authentic self. I specialise in kinesiology, energy healing, aromatherapy, reflexology, mindfulness, coaching and crystal healing, drawing on modern therapeutic practice alongside influences from Chinese and Indian wellness traditions.
Earlier in my career I worked as a health carer in private care & in nursing homes, offering reflexology and holistic therapies to residents with a wide range of physical & mental health conditions. Supporting people at many stages of life, including those who were non-verbal, which helped me develop a deep awareness of body language and the subtle ways people communicate how they feel.
Meditation is central to my work and life. As a somatic meditation teacher, I guide gentle meditations and visualisations that help people reconnect with their body, quiet the mind and rediscover inner calm.
Nature also plays a huge role in my approach. I’m especially passionate about ecotherapy and my growing love of forest bathing, helping people reconnect with the natural world and find balance outdoors. I moved from Nottingham to Scarborough seven years ago to live by my greatest love — the sea.
My spiritual path has also been shaped by time spent training in Glastonbury to become a celebrant, a place steeped in myth and legend and often linked with Avalon, the ancient healing isle.
After working in many care and holistic settings, my true joy has been working in the community — supporting people ready to step into their authentic self and begin their path of healing. Meeting Kate was truly fate; we instantly understood each other and seemed to speak on the same wavelength. What began as a small wellness coffee morning has grown into running Wellness Mornings in four locations across our town through our CIC.
Outside of work I enjoy arts and crafts, crocheting, 5 Rhythms dance, Tai Chi and the theatre. I also love exploring Celtic myths and legends and dreaming up new fairy tales inspired by these ancient lands and who doesn't love a good summer beach party by the sea.

Kate Stancombe - Sound Therapist
Hi, I’m Kate, and I’ve been living in Scarborough since 2018. I truly love the life I’ve created here—regular sea swims and time spent immersed in the surrounding nature that we’re so lucky to have on our doorstep.
My interest in wellbeing began back in 2006 when I started practising yoga while living in Tenerife. I’ve always been an active person with a deep love of the sea and creative expression. Over the years I’ve enjoyed scuba diving, hiking, dancing, singing and playing an eclectic mix of music. During a significant life change, I was introduced to the healing effects of sound, which sparked a deeper curiosity about holistic wellbeing.
After returning to the UK in 2017, I began training in Sound Therapy and Holistic Voice Therapy in 2020 with the British Academy of Sound Therapy. I established The Sounding Space and give regular small group sound baths at my home studio as well as 1:2:1 private sessions.
As you become more aware of how your body, mind and spirit are influenced by what you do, think, see, hear and say, you find yourself on an incredible journey—one filled with curiosity, awe and discovery. I love exploring new activities, experiences, therapies and forms of movement to understand how they affect my wellbeing, and I’m passionate about sharing that spirit of exploration and self-discovery with others. Meeting Daniel and discovering our mutual interests, the Wellness Mornings were born. We're so excited about what the future will bring for Scarborough Wellness CIC and how we can inspire wellness and empower communities to thrive.
